The Behavioral Health Forensic Evaluation Center (BHFEC) is charged with providing a comprehensive range of evaluation services that address the psychiatric and psychological needs of individuals referred by Philadelphia Family Court.
Evaluations involve cases from both the dependent and delinquent court streams, address the mental health treatment needs of referred individuals, and provide helpful information and recommendations to the Court. In providing quality evaluations to Philadelphia Family Court, the BHFEC strives to uphold values of the Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services’ (DBHIDS) system transformation including the completion of strength focused, culturally competent, trauma informed evaluations which address the behavioral health well-being and needs of individuals assessed.
The BHFEC also serves as a training site for doctoral students in psychology. The BHFEC is supported by Community Behavioral Health (CBH), a major program of DBHIDS, the Philadelphia Department of Human Services (DHS), and PMHCC, Inc. (PMHCC).
